The International Physics Olympiad is one of the world's leading scientific competitions for high-school students.
Founded in 1967, it brings together exceptional students from more than 80 countries to compete in theoretical and practical physics challenges that require deep understanding and advanced analytical skills. The 2027 edition — the 57th IPhO — will be hosted in Saudi Arabia in July 2027.

The competition takes place July 2027 in Saudi Arabia. The full national registration, qualifying, and training schedule is being finalized and will be published here soon.
The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, one of the centers of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, invites Kuwaiti male and female students from public and private schools in grades 9, 10, and 11 to apply for the National Qualifying Examination for the International Physics Olympiad, scheduled to be held in July 2027 in Saudi Arabia.
At the Center we are seeking the young Kuwaiti scientist and researcher who is passionate about physics, to provide them with the resources they need to refine their skills and prepare under the guidance of world-class expert trainers.
The examination consists of multiple-choice questions, some of which may be entirely new to the student. Through this exam we aim to assess and measure the student's level, and to set the training standards that ensure their academic performance in the subject is strengthened.
We therefore encourage all eligible students with a passion and love for physics to register and benefit from this national exam. It will be an enriching and enjoyable experience filled with knowledge and learning, and it will qualify them to take part in the International Physics Olympiad 2027.
